Smoke alarm install in the Redlands, Brisbane and Gold Coast

Queensland’s smoke alarm laws now cover every home. By 1 January 2027, all owner-occupied homes, townhouses and units need interconnected photoelectric smoke alarms, the same rule that already applies to rentals and homes being sold. We’ll check what you’ve got, tell you what you need, and install it properly.

• Photoelectric smoke alarms that meet Australian Standard AS 3786-2014
• All alarms interconnected, so when one goes off they all go off
• An alarm in every bedroom
• An alarm in the hallway connecting bedrooms to the rest of the house
• At least one alarm on every level of the home
• Hardwired, or a sealed 10-year battery

We supply and install compliant, interconnected photoelectric smoke alarms, either hardwired to mains power or sealed 10-year battery models. We’ll check your current alarms, install everything in the right spots, test it all, and give you a certificate for your records.

• Do I need hardwired or battery alarms?
  Either can be compliant. If your home already has hardwired alarms, they usually need to be replaced with hardwired ones. We’ll let you know what suits your home.
• How long does it take?
  Most homes are done in a few hours, depending on how many alarms you need and whether they’re hardwired or battery. We’ll give you a time frame when we quote, so you can plan your day.
• Do you do rentals and pre-sale compliance?
  Yes. We work with landlords, property managers and homeowners getting ready to sell.
